6th grade History: For the next several weeks we will be working on and learning about the Ancient Egyptians. The students will be watching videos and learning about the life in ancient Egypt, particularly the pyramids, pharaoh's and mummification. There will be various homework assignments, quizzes and a test at the end of the chapter. Grade 7 History: We are currently learning about how the original 13 colonies formed. We will then be discussing what life was like in the colonies for people of all kinds. This will eventually lead us into the American Revolution after Christmas. Their will be various assignments, readings, videos, quizzes and a test at the end of the chapter. All test are announced a week ahead of time. Grade 8 History: 8th grade is finishing up the reconstruction period and soon will be getting into the roaring 20's. They will be talking about the booming time of the 20's as well as prohibition and then the Great Depression. The students will view several, videos, pictures and be subjected to several primry sources of the time period. There will be regular homework, classwrok and assesments. Grade 6 Geography Grade six will be learning about social geography over the next month or so. They will be learning about cultures of the world, diversity and why cultures differ from one another and the importance of accepting of cultures. There will be various activities, homework, class assignments Grade 7 Geography: Grade six is coming up on learning about the country of South America. They will be required to fillin a blank South America Map. Any capitals they can recall will be bonus on a test. They will view videos, maps andpictures throughout the unit. Grade 8 Geography Grade 8 is currently learning about all the country's of Europe. Any capitals they can recall will count as bonus on assessments. As we journey through Europe, the students will view various videos of the country's, reflect on them, write short research papers, view maps and pictures and view interesting statistics. They will have conisistent homework, classwork, research papers, quizzes and other kinds of assessments as we continue through the continent. |
