Grade three had a blast completing their first big science project. The students have been studying astronomy with our new Nancy Larson Science Kits. They were asked to create a 3D model of a rocket that would be able to travel and explore their assigned planet. The students were also asked to complete a packet of information about all eight planets in our solar system. Their work is out of this world!
Grades 3-5 had a fantastic day on their first NBC field trip. We started our day off by visiting the Narragansett Bay Commission and seeing how our water is cleaned. Students toured the facility wearing their hard hats and looking at each step of the water cleaning process. We then proceeded to Slater Park to do our Fall Water Quality Testing. Students tested for dissolved oxygen, nitrates, phosphates, turbidity and PH. What a wonderful day to be scientist.
We are so very thankful for our amazing and caring students. On Thursday we had a fundraiser for the Catholic Charities Hurricane Relief Fund and raised $436.55. Also, all week we have been collecting personal hygiene items for our St. John Paul II food pantry, to help our local families. We collected 2,027 items. I consider all of you real superhero's because you have helped all these people without any personal interest. Thank you so much, and keep up the great job!
Our school community donated over 30 computers to Computers 4 Cancer. This nonprofit organization donates all proceeds to help cancer patients and their families.
